The garden board consists of UVic undergraduates, graduates, and UVic staff or faculty. The Board of Directors helps the garden run, supports garden staff, and provides feedback for our road plans for the future. Allen (he/him)

Board Member

Hi there, I'm Allen! I'm a Physics & Astronomy major and I like reading, writing short stories and poetry, and learning about outer space. I've been involved with the garden since I started showing up to work parties at the beginning of my first year. I got roped into being on the board, realised I really enjoyed it, and have been on the board and getting involved in the garden in all sorts of ways ever since. 

Don't let the official-sounding name fool you, being on the board for the CCG is a blast! What I love about being on the board is that it lets me get more involved in not just the day-to-day details, but bigger-picture projects as well. I really appreciate that I can give my input more directly, see the projects I'm involved with come to fruition, and help make a difference through the really great work the garden does.

Clare doesn't really know how to garden. Find them snacking or yapping around the CCG. Bruce Springsteen is their mom, and The Great Outdoors is their dad. ​

Rachel (she/her)

Hi, I'm Rachel! I am a lover of all things that involve dirt, community, and fresh air. I am a grad student in the biology department studying watershed conservation. I love to bike, camp, garden and can be found reading too many books at once. I'm really excited to be involved with the campus garden community this year :) 

Katherine (she/they)

Hello! I'm Katherine and I'm at UVic to study computer science. But! There is only so much computer my mind can handle before it melts. I come to the garden to grow things, look at cool bugs, and build community! I am on a mission to sniff every sunflower I walk past.

​My favorite bug is phidippus johnsoni. I am also partial to millipedes in general. Show me cool bug pictures, I will enjoy looking at them.
