advertisements, if you're a local student group, org, or cause that wants a shout-out, let us know!

  • please email submissions to [email protected] with "sundew" somewhere in the subject line! a cover letter is not necessary but you're more than welcome to send one for practice!

  • except for our themed winter issues, all submission calls are open-theme; they do not need to be garden related (though we still love those too, of course!)

  • submissions will be collaged with other accepted pieces! words between poems/prose pieces will never be mixed, but may be on top of visual submissions or sharing space with others

  • if you’re not sure whether you can or can’t submit something, ask at [email protected]

  • you can submit multiple times per issue, per genre

  • contributors are provided with 1 free copy; additional copies can be purchased directly from garden staff on a sliding scale of $2-$10, or from Subtext for $10, while supplies last.

  • when every new issue is launched, any remaining copies of the last are available for free on our bulletin board in the SUB, office B020

stumped?

Read our about page to learn about us.

That said, this journal is not meant to exemplify the CCG, but to represent the diversity of voices on campus and the different ways they can be heard.

Submit your essays about why your computer science class sucks (or why it's great)! Send us your sentimental love poems, your This Side of West rejects, an excerpt from the novel you've been writing for 5 years. Show us your newest tattoo. Take a picture of your class textbook to show how you annotate. Send in a photo of your cat. And another. More photos of your cat, pls & thx.

And if you have something to say on food security, on how hard it is to afford to eat and live here, photos of some cool bugs and plants, a poem about gardening, or a shoutout for a local cause you want to highlight: it's very likely it has a home here!
